☀️ Morning sounds & Forget-Me-Nots ☀️
+ a quote that stood out to me from Oswald Chambers this morning...
"The nature of spiritual life is that we are certain in our uncertainty....
Certainty is the mark of the common sense life: gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life.
To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in all our ways, we do not know what a day may bring forth. This is generally said with a sigh of sadness; it should be rather an expression of breathless expectation. We are uncertain of the next step, but we are certain of God.
Immediately we abandon to God, and do the duty that lies nearest, He packs our life with surprises all the time...
If we are only certain in our beliefs, we get dignified and severe and have the band of finality about our views; but when we are rightly related to God, life is full of spontaneous, joyful uncertainty and expectancy...
Leave the whole thing to Him, it is gloriously uncertain how He will come in, but He will come."
"My Utmost for His Highest"
Strawflower...such a different type of flower, but just absolutely beautiful. The petals literally feel like straw, which keeps them sturdy and perfect for dried flower bouquets and crafts.
It's been a learning curve, but it has been so fun understanding when to harvest and how to dry out this flower properly. At first, I waited too long to harvest, causing the flower to open more than it should (third photo). It rather looks like a small lion that had its face in front of a fan too long 😂
So I started cutting the blooms earlier. I cut as soon as the first tier of petals had opened (second photo). I rubber banded the stems together and hung them upside down in a dark closet for two weeks. All of the flowers have held their color beautifully and most of them have fully opened and now hold a normal flower shape.
I am SO excited to incorporate these into some of our dried flower crafts this summer 😍

The book that fueled the dream ✨
2018 was when I first heard of @floretflower and I was absolutely intrigued. The idea of growing gorgeous cut flowers and then providing them to our local community just seemed...well...dreamy.
In July 2021, we put feet to our dream and started our first season. (This drift rose was the first thing we planted 🩷 ) And now, here we are, just shy of celebrating two years of the Emeralda Flower Company.
Thank you for following our journey and supporting our dream. To everyone that has bought flowers, purchased honey, worn a Tshirt, drank from one of our cups or sported one of our hats, thank you. Truly. This would not be possible without you.
Through everything, it's our prayer that you will feel loved and know the One who made you ❤️
Happy Friday, friends! 🌻
We live in a fallen world. There will be struggles, temptations, fears, anger, tears, exhaustion. Fight for the joy and know the One who is reaching for you through it all.

*I tried really hard to not hurt any of the flowers in the making of this small reel 😂
The ranunculus blooms may have come and gone, but we are now in the waiting process for the corms. They are not the cheapest flower to invest in and we are learning sustainable practices to harvest the plants so that we can hopefully double, maybe even triple, our yield for next year.
When we harvested corms last year, we learned to wait until the plant was completely dead (no greenery left on the leaves). From there, we pulled up each plant and left them in a bucket to completely dry out (side note...these are great flowers for motherhood...the corms can be left and forgotten for weeks until you happen to get a moment between snacks and potty training 😂).
After they're completely dried out, all leaves can be removed and, very gently, corms can be separated. Often a plant will have two corms, and sometimes even three. Last year, we started with 60 corms and ended the season with 110. We invested in more from @edenbrothers to start the 2023 season with 500 corms. Excited to see what the results will be in a few weeks! Hoping for at least 1000 😍
Happy Monday!
Recently, when listening to an @sally.clarkson podcast, one of her guest speakers was talking about light. She said Christians are often familiar with light being compared to darkness, but that we often forget that light is also needed to help things grow.
Be encouraged to slow down and take a moment to rest today. To read the Word and "let the light in" so that you are given the opportunity to grow...in peace, in hope, in joy, in grace, in salvation.
I thought maybe once a week, I might share a favorite book or resource that has been an encouragement to me. It has always been so helpful to me when others share theirs.
For devotional time, I'm currently reading:
•the Bible (usually ESV or Holman Christian Standard)
•"Morning by Morning" by Charles Spurgeon
•"My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers
•"Heartfelt Discipline" by Clay Clarkson
And then for fun:
•a fiction book on audio..."Winter Garden" by Kristen Hannah (it makes washing the dishes go by so much faster haha)
*Please note, as I think it's a common misconception..."quiet time" does not have to be quiet. Nor does it have to take place very early in the morning...there are seasons of life. Along with a lot of other mamas, I'm in a season where sleep is harder to come by. Often, my reading is while my girl watches "Octonauts" first thing in the morning. Or it might also look like me reading a verse (or page) throughout the day as I walk by it. "Letting the light in" can happen at any moment ❤️
Featured flower: the Coreopsis 🥰
I pray that she knows home is always a safe place. That the flowers were there to point her to God and be a reminder of His great care.
I pray that she knows we will always love her, no matter what.
I pray that she seeks God and knows Him from an early age and for the rest of her life.
I pray that she has the confidence to face her struggles and bring them to the foot of the cross.
I pray that she embraces her God-given womanhood one day and knows that she is strong in Him.
I pray for her future friends and that they will push her to know Christ more.
I pray that her adventures will remind her of the grandness of God and that she always has a home to return to.
I pray that her future husband (if it's God's will) will point her to Jesus and support her dreams.
I pray. Because there can never be enough of them.
"You stand before God as if you were Christ, because Christ stood before God as if He were you." Charles Spurgeon
A powerful reflection on this Saturday night before the coming joy in the morning. Happy Easter, dear friends!
A fun custom hat for a very dear former student ✨ Love seeing her pursue the Lord, chase her dreams, and travel the world. So proud of her!
And with every season, there is an end...
Although this one is coming to a close much sooner than we thought, we are so grateful for everyone that purchased flowers, cheered us on, and sent encouraging notes. We pray these flowers have provided a bit of light and hope ❤️ We would not be able to do this without you all! Thank you!!
Farm Stand Update: we were hoping to have enough ranunculus to open the stand one more time, but unfortunately, it's looking like we're not going to be able to. It's just too hot for the flowers. So we're pushing forward to summer time and our heat loving flowers (zinnias, sunflowers, basil, coneflowers, and more ❤️).
The next projected flower season will hopefully begin at the end of May/early June! See y'all then! ☺️
✨ The farm stand is open! ✨
At the beginning of the week, the ranunculus were doing very well and were loving the cooler temperatures! But now that we are back to hot weather, they are starting to peter out slowly. Unfortunately, it looks like we will be heading into higher temperatures for a while. With that, we're making the hard call that April 1st will be our last opening of the farm stand for the ranunculus. This morning, we have four arrangements ($12) available and we're hoping to have at least the same amount available the following week for the final opening.
The good news...we just planted a variety of zinnias that will be available late May. We're trialing Zahara Starlight Rose zinnias as well as a Carrasoul zinnia mix. We will also have Vincent's Choice sunflowers planted soon and those will be available at the end of May as well. When those are ready, we will reopen the farm stand and have bouquets available!
It has been so fun getting to open the farm stand and we are very thankful for everyone that has stopped by and purchased flowers and honey! We are incredibly grateful for your support of our farm and family!
And to think I almost missed National Flower Day! Thank you @laura.darty for reminding me! 😍
This has been our biggest harvest of ranunculus yet! They are looooving these cooler FL temps! 🙌
Happy Spring! 💐
✨ Flowers are down at the farm stand! ✨
There are two hand-tied bouquets, two large bouquets, and one medium bouquet. If you're in the area, would love to have you stop by! Orange Blossom & Wildflower honey available upon request 😊

Happy Saturday! 💐
The Mixed Market Bouquet - my personal favorite 🥰
There will be two of these down at the farm stand tomorrow as well as a few arrangements in vases. Orange Blossom & Wildflower honey are also available upon request!
The farm stand is self-serve and a variety of payments forms can be accepted including cash, card, Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle.
If you're in the area tomorrow, would love to have you stop by! Flowers will be down at the stand by 9am ❤️
When I was about 13, a dear family friend taught me how to embroider. Her name was Linda Holcomb and she and her husband lived in a white farmhouse with lots of room to run and play. I spent many hours there catching fireflies, looking for four leaf clovers, and even learning how to drive in an old beater while making laps around the pasture 😂
Linda sat down and taught me many things every time we visited. I was okay with crocheting, but embroidery I really loved. My first project was a baby bib with a bunny and I remember working diligently on it.
Her words of advice: "Your back should look as good as the front" and "Never crochet or embroider when you're angry. Everything will be too tight and that just won't work" 😂
I'm still not nearly as good as she is, but I love to tinker with it. Over the last few months, I've been slowly working on two hats. I created the design on Stick-n-Stich, embroidered it, and then rinsed out my pattern. Each hat took me roughly six hours to make.
I'm excited to share that I will be posting both hats on our website tonight at 8pm. I'm also a bit sad because I love them each in their own way. But I know they will go to good homes and I pray they're a reminder that there is still beauty in the world if we look for it.
There is only one of each for now. Maybe in the future I will make more, but for now, I'm happy to present these ❤️
As always thank you for supporting our farm and family! More flowers will be at the farmstand this Saturday 💐
